Three years ago, illustrator, Marie-Alice Harel, was finishing her postdoctoral contract at the University of Edinburgh when she started to take art seriously. She then took the leap, leaving her PhD behind, and becoming a freelance illustrator. In this interview, she talks to Bobby about making up for lost time, overcoming isolation, and going to LightBox Expo when she barely knew anyone and how it all turned out.
